Kidlington Report

Thanks to Carol for supplying the following thoughts on the event.

Thanks to everyone who turned up and ran on this dark and wet evening. The pub was very welcoming, and had set aside four tables for us at one end of the pub. This gave us a nice social space for drinks, food, and chat after people’s runs. You can see that Christmas apparel made a key difference in the final positions at the top of the table. Marcin won overall, but his 510 points without the bonus for the full Santa Claus outfit that he ran in (not technical material, and he said it was very hot, and I think he really deserves more than 40 bonus points) would have put him in joint 3rd place, with Roger winning, and Robin moving up from 4th to joint 3rd. And if, in addition, Roger hadn’t had his Christmas decoration, then Ben Green would move up to joint 1st place from 3rd. There are some close scores lower down the table as well, and positions could have been different if Christmas bonuses had been earned. Maybe this information can be used to prepare for next year’s Christmas event…

Kidlington results are published

The Kidlington results have been published. Many thanks to Carol who planned and the Black Horse for hosting us.
As usual if you see any mistakes please let me know and I’ll get them sorted.
There was a mistake in the November allocation of points which has now been fixed.

With half the season gone our pacesetters in the overall standings are Marie-Anne and Roger. Will they be able to stay the distance until the end of the season or will the chasing pack catch and even overtake them. Find out in 2016.

Temple Cowley results are published

The results have been published for a few days, hopefully you have found them. Many thanks to Neville for organising and the Marsh Harrier for hosting us.

We also welcomed a few new runners and hoped they enjoyed themselves.
As ever, please check the results and let me know if you think there is
something not quite right, and we’ll endeavour to fix it up.

Next month, Tue Dec 15th, we’ve escaped Oxford again, just North by a couple of miles to Kidlington. More details on the event page soon.

Abingdon results are available

We had a good turnout for our second visit to Abingdon and I hope you all enjoyed it – the results are now available online including updated overall scores. Many thanks to Matt for organising and the Boundary House for hosting us.
A noteble item in the results is that the top six people were all overtime. The planning allowed people to get away from the start but finding a good strategy for the return path picking up points on the way seemed to catch people out. It cetainly did for me.

Headington result are published

The results of Wednesday 23rd event in Headington are now available here. Thanks to Bill for planning and the Britannia Inn for accommodating us. If you see any mistakes in the results let me know and I’ll rectify them.

The 2015/2016 season has started

Last Wednesday, 23rd, saw the start of the 2015-2016 Oxford Street Series. Planned by Bill Child in the Headington area of Oxford. A good turnout on a mild evening with a couple of new faces to welcome. We also took a final opportunity to say goodbye to Mark Collis who came along for a last run around before heading off to Prague in the next few weeks.

I have to apologise for not sending out pre event email from the OSS site, but had not realised this was done automatically on writing posts. That should be sorted now so hopefully everyone on the mailing list will have received this post. A few procedural items need ironing out whilst I get to grips with updating the OSS site.
