OSS September 2015 (Headington)

The first street-o of the new season will be held around the streets of Headington and has been planned by Bill Child.

Event Centre

The event centre is the Britannia Inn on London Road.

We would encourage you to arrive on foot, by bicycle or by public transport if possible – there are many bus routes between the city centre and Headington which pass the pub door. There is a car park if you are coming from further afield. However the car park is pay and display, but you get a credit/refund on your first food or drink order at the bar.

Race Format

60 minute score (visit as many controls as you can and return within 60 minutes). Remember to bring a watch and a pen! A head torch could also be useful as there may be a few unlit roads and paths. Start times are between 6.30pm and 8pm, starting whenever you’re ready. See About Street-O for a more detailed description.

Terrain

Tarmac roads and paths. Most roads have a 20mph limit and low traffic levels. London Road is busy but there are plenty of sensible crossing points – please take care.

Social

If you can, please stay after you have run to discuss routes, mistakes, the weather or anything else that takes your fancy. The Britannia serves food until 10pm and is open until 11pm.
