OSS Mar 2020(Abingdon)

11th March 2020 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

£2.00

The March Oxford Street-O series event returns to Abingdon and is planned by Nigel Bunn. There is a new event centre, close to the centre of Abingdon, which allows access to the Southern areas of Abingdon which we rarely visit.

Event centre

The event centre is the Kings Head and Bell at 10 East St. Helen Street, Abingdon, Oxfordshire OX14 5EA. We will be in the Garden Room ( enter through the archway into the courtyard it is the large glass fronted room straight ahead ).

We would encourage you to arrive on foot, by bicycle or by public transport if possible – there are a few bus routes between Oxford and Abingdon. Regular buses from Oxford stop in Abingdon High Street just round the corner from the pub.

Car Parking: Car parks in West St Helens Street or Rye Farm Car Park just over the Thames Bridge on the way out of town towards Wallingford. Both about 200m away and free in the evening.

Race Format

60 minute score (visit as many controls as you can and return within 60 minutes). Remember to bring a watch and a torch since it is now very dark! Start times are between 6.30pm and 8pm, starting whenever you’re ready. See About Street-O for a more detailed description.

Terrain

Tarmac roads and paths, wherem most roads have low traffic levels. The area is generally flat.

Social

If you can, please stay after you have run to discuss routes, mistakes, the weather or anything else that takes your fancy. The Kings Head and Bell serves food until 9pm (although try to order by 8:45)

The menu can be found here, Kings Head and Bell menu
