OSS September 2017 (Abingdon)

20th September 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

The first Street-O of the 2017/18 season, on Wednesday 20 September, will be around the streets of Abingdon and has been planned by Nigel Bunn. Those of you who ran in TVOC’s recent Urban event in Abingdon will remember the complex maze of residential roads and paths which should provide some challenging navigation and route choice. The Street O map has also been extended into the centre of town.

Event centre

The event will be based at the Boundary House pub in Oxford Road, Abingdon.

We would encourage you to arrive on foot, by bicycle or by public transport (buses from Oxford stop just outside the pub at the traffic lights). However there is a large pub car park if you are coming from further afield.

Bus Routes

Race Format

60 minute score (visit as many controls as you can and return within 60 minutes). Remember to bring a watch and a pen! Also a head torch could also be useful as there may be a few unlit roads and paths. Start times are between 6.30pm and 8pm, starting whenever you’re ready. See About Street-O for a more detailed description. You must not run inside the pub.
If you are early it may be possible to finish before it becomes dark.

Largely quiet tarmac roads and paths. North-east Abingdon is full of complex housing estates, reminiscent of the urban events you may have run in Didcot.

As usual, please stay after you have run to discuss routes, mistakes, the weather or anything else that takes your fancy. The Boundary House serves food until 9pm.
