OSS February 2018 (Iffley)

The February OSS event has been planned by John Owens. The area is mainly along the Iffley Road, with a small chunk of the City Centre and a bit up the hill towards Headington to try to provide a new experience.

Event centre
The event centre is at the Cape of Good Hope, on the Magdalen Bridge roundabout: Iffley Road, The Plain, Oxford, Oxfordshire, OX4 1EA. Tel: 01865 262291

We would encourage you to arrive on foot, by bicycle or by public transport if possible. Parking nearby is possible in the Pay and Display on St Clements Street. St Clements Parking
On-Street parking is available in the East Oxford (EO), Divinity Road (DR) and Magdalen North (MN). Parking in non ‘Permit holder only spaces’ general becomes available at 6:30pm, if you can find a space.

Race Format
60 minute score (visit as many controls as you can and return within 60 minutes). Remember to bring a watch and a pen! Also a head torch will be required as a couple of potential route choices involve paths that are not fully lit. Start times are between 6.30pm and 8pm, starting whenever you’re ready. Terrain

Tarmac roads and paths. Most roads have a 20mph limit and low traffic levels. Iffley Road is busy but there are plenty of sensible crossing points – please take care.

Social

If you can, please stay after you have run to discuss routes, mistakes, the weather or anything else that takes your fancy. The Cape Of Good Hope serves a variety of food/drink.
