OSS Event September 2013 (Marston and Headington Hill)

12th September 2013 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

£2

The first race of this season’s Oxford Street-O series will be around the streets of Marston and west Headington and is being planned by Bill Child.

Event Centre

The event centre will be the OXSRAD Sports Centre on Marsh Lane, just off the northern by-pass. There is plenty of parking available, alternatively bus 14A (railway station 1835, Magdalen St 1842) stops outside while many other buses will get you to Cherwell Drive which is a short walk away: from railway station and city centre via Marston Rd (13), Abingdon (X13), railway station and city centre via Marston Ferry Rd (14/17A) and Cowley and Headington (U5).

As many of you will know, OXSRAD is the home of Headington Road Runners and we hope to attract some HRR regulars to give street-o a go on roads they probably know very well!

Race Format

60 minute score (visit as many controls as you can and return within 60 minutes). Remember to bring a watch and a pen! A head torch may also be useful as there are a few unlit paths that provide useful route choices. Start times are between 6.30pm and 8pm, starting whenever you’re ready. See About Street-O for a more detailed description.

Terrain

Largely tarmac roads and paths. Marston is flat but there is a significant hill up towards Headington so the map will have contours. Most roads have a 20mph limit and low traffic levels.

Social

If you can, please stay after you have run to discuss routes, mistakes, the weather or anything else that takes your fancy. OXSRAD can provide food but you will need to order it before you run.
