February’s event will be based at Wolvercote on the northwest edge of Oxford and has been organised by Liz Cross.

Event Centre

The event centre will be Liz’s house at 25 Rowland Close. There is on-street parking in Rowland Close but PLEASE be careful not to block in neighbours’ cars or access. If there is no room in the Close, you can park on Godstow Road. Bus number 6 stops in Home Close just round the corner (it’s the final stop).

Race Format

60 minute score (visit as many controls as you can and return within 60 minutes). Remember to bring a watch and a pen! Start times are between 6.30pm and 8pm, starting whenever you’re ready. See About Street-O for a more detailed description.

Terrain

Largely tarmac roads and paths with no significant hills. Most of the roads are well-lit but there are a few possible route choices along towpaths or across parks so head torches are advisable. The ring road must be crossed only at the marked crossing points. Many of the other roads have a 20mph limit. Nevertheless the traffic is busy in places and you must take care crossing all roads.

Social

If you can, please stay after you have run to discuss routes, mistakes, the weather or anything else that takes your fancy. We will provide baked potatoes with meat and veg fillings – and as it’s Shrove Tuesday, pancakes for pudding! If people can let me know by Sunday night if they want food that would be great, and we’d ask for a small contribution.
