OSS Event February 2014 (Iffley)

February’s race will be around the streets of Iffley and Littlemore and is being planned by Matthew Hill.

Event centre

The event will be based at the Prince of Wales pub in Iffley village. There is some parking at the pub, and also free parking along Church Way.

Race Format

60 minute score (visit as many controls as you can and return within 60 minutes). Remember to bring a watch and a pen! Start times are between 6.30pm and 8pm, starting whenever you’re ready. See About Street-O for a more detailed description.

Terrain

Largely tarmac roads and paths with a few gentle hills. A head torch will be useful for those who want to go further as some of the paths are unlit. There are no controls near the river! The ring road runs across the map, and is a very busy dual carriageway which must only be crossed at the marked bridges and underpasses. You will run along and across many other minor roads though, some of which will have significant traffic, so please cross carefully and make use of pedestrian crossings where possible.

As usual, please stay after you have run to discuss routes, mistakes, the weather or anything else that takes your fancy. The Prince of Wales serves food, 6pm – 9pm, and has some excellent beers. Please see the pub’s website for details.
