OSS Sep 2018(Headington)

Now confirmed for Tue 25th September

The September event will be around the streets of Headington and has been planned by Neville Baker. Generally flat to the South though an opportunity to take in some hill to the North West.

Event centre

The event centre is the Britannia Inn on London Road, Oxford, OX3 7AA.

We would encourage you to arrive on foot, by bicycle or by public transport if possible – there are many bus routes between the city centre and Headington which pass the pub door. There is a car park if you are coming from further afield, though. Usually the car park has a ticket machine (£2 possibly), refundable when purchasing from the bar.

Race Format

60 minute score (visit as many controls as you can and return within 60 minutes). Remember to bring a watch! Start times are between 6.30pm and 8pm, starting whenever you’re ready. See About Street-O for a more detailed description.

Terrain

Tarmac roads and paths. Most roads have a 20mph limit and low traffic levels. London Road is busy but there are plenty of sensible crossing points – please take care.

Roadworks:
Almost everywhere in Headington – no roads are closed to pedestrians, but please exercise caution.

Social

If you can, please stay after you have run to discuss routes, mistakes, the weather or anything else that takes your fancy. The Britannia serves food, though it is unclear at what time they stop serving. If you intend to eat it would be worth finding out when they cease cooking before your run. The Britannina is open until Midnight.
