DESCRIPTION:The March round of the Oxford Street-O series sees us visit Didcot for the first time. Charlotte Coles is organising and planning an event covering central Didcot and the Great Western Park housing estate. \nEvent centre\nThe event will be based at The Station Garden pub\, at the junction between Greenwood Way and Gentian Mews (postcode OX11 6GR)\, opposite Asda and UTC Oxfordshire.   \nFor those driving\, there is parking at the rear of the pub. Trains and the X2 bus service run from Oxford to Didcot Parkway. The 98 bus route then connects Didcot Parkway to Great Western Park (the Station Garden pub is opposite the Great Western Park North\, Asda stop).\nBus routes:\n The 98 Bus Route\n The x2 Bus Route \nRace Format\n60 minute score (visit as many controls as you can and return within 60 minutes). Remember to bring a watch and a pen! There are unlit paths off the main streets\, so a head torch is also necessary. Start times are between 6.30pm and 8pm\, starting whenever you’re ready. See About Street-O for a more detailed description. You must not run inside the pub. \nTerrain\nLargely tarmac roads and paths. This area consists of quite complex housing estates\, reminiscent of the urban events you may have run in Abingdon. Please take particular care when crossing the busy main roads coming off the roundabout in central Didcot; Broadway/Wantage Road\, Foxhall Road and Park Road. Note the out of bounds area (pink hatched zone on the map) covering the site of the MOD base. \nSocial\nStay after your run to have a drink/some food and to discuss routes\, mistakes\, the weather or anything else that takes your fancy. Wednesday is Pizza night at The Station Garden\, which serves food until 9pm.\nMenu \n
