DESCRIPTION:The first Street-O of 2017 will be around the streets of Martson & Headington and has been planned by Ben Green. The map has been redrawn specially for the event and takes in New Marston\, Headington Hill\, Central Headington and\, for those in search of the big scores\, one or two parts of St Clements. \nEvent centre \nThe event centre is at the OXSRAD sports and leisure centre in Marston\, Oxford\, OX3 0NQ. \nWe would encourage you to arrive on foot\, by bicycle or by public transport if possible. There is a car park at the centre if you are coming from further afield\, though. \nRace Format \n60 minute score (visit as many controls as you can and return within 60 minutes). Remember to bring a watch! Start times are between 6.30pm and 8pm\, starting whenever you’re ready. See About Street-O for a more detailed description. \nAs a new innovation to try and attract some runners\, we will be trialling a new form of control punching called “touch-O”. This will involve literally touching the letter O on street signs. No pen and no paper (other than the map) will be required. For this to work we of course require all runners to be scrupulously honest about their route and\, of course\, to remember which controls they visited when they return. If you wish to take a pen to record the controls you visit then by all means do so. \nTerrain \nTarmac roads and paths. Most roads have a 20mph limit and low traffic levels. London Road is busy but there are plenty of sensible crossing points – please take care. \nSocial \nIf you can\, please stay after you have run to discuss routes\, mistakes\, the weather or anything else that takes your fancy. The OXSRAD bar will be open and food will be available afterwards. \n
